Les Grammy Awards 2013 ont été remis cette nuit à Los Angeles. Parmi les très nombreux prix attribués lors de cette cérémonie, seuls 11 ont été remis en direct lors de la soirée retransmise sur CBS. Sting, Bruno Mars, Rihanna, Justin Timberlake ou encore Beyoncé se sont succédé sur scène mais ce sont les Black Keys et Gotye qui ont dominé le plamarès avec repectivement 4 et 3 prix.
Les Black Keys se sont imposés dans les catégories rock, en empochant le prix de l'album rock de l'année, la chanson rock de l'année et la performance rock de l'année. Dan Auerbach, membre du duo, a remporté un quatrième Grammy, celui du producteur de l'année. "Somebody That I Used to Know" de Gotye a, lui, été désigné disque de l'année et performance pop par un duo ou groupe. Mais c'est Mumford & Sons qui a remporté le trophée le plus convoité, celui de l'album de l'année, pour "Babel".
Désigné révélation de l'année, fun. est également reparti avec le Grammy de la chanson de l'année pour "We Are Young", troisième plus gros succès de 2012 aux Etats-Unis. Alors qu'elle est favorite pour l'Oscar de la meilleure chanson pour "SkyFall", Adele s'est de nouveau imposée aux Grammy avec le prix de la performance pop solo avec "Set Fire to the Rain" tandis que "We Found Love" de Rihanna a été élu clip de l'année.
Kelly Clarkson a remporté le trophée de l'album pop de l'année avec "Stronger" tandis que Carrie Underwood, elle aussi révélée dans "American Idol", a reçu le Grammy de la performance country solo de l'année pour "Blown Away", plage principale de son quatrième album. Côté rap, c'est le duo Jay-Z & Kanye West et leur chanson "N****s In Paris" qui se sont imposés à trois reprises.
